Proctor family thanks those who saved home

Dear Editor,

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all that were involved in keeping our home safe in the structure fire on April 30, 2020.

Thank you Kim Ebrom of the US Postal Service, for your keen eye in spotting the smoke from the beginning of the fire and alerting authorities. Thank you Capt. Clint Morris and crew, from the Cuero Fire Dept. and 1st Asst. Brian Ladwig and crew from the Cuero Volunteer Fire Dept. who arrived on scene within five minutes and had the flames controlled in less than 20 minutes, keeping the damage to a minimum. Thank you Cuero Police Department and TX DPS officers who closed off the area and directed traffic. Thank you City of Cuero Electric and Street Dept. Thank you Monty Smith and crew from Texas Gas Service for turning off the gas mains to the entire block, avoiding a more serious situation.

Finally, thank you, Linda Anzaldua and Pet Adoptions of Cuero, for taking in two kittens that were found covered in dirt, soot, and soaking wet after the fire was out. Our most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all in our city and county who ensure the safety of our citizens.

Alex Proctor
