Twenty-one young contestants shined at the second annual Miss Sparkle Special Needs Pageant held at the Cuero ISD Performing Arts Center on Sunday, May 6. At the end of the evening, Kaitlyn Alyse Nation of Cuero was named Miss Sparkle Extreme, while Ruby Rosales of Yorktown was named Miss Sparkle American and Bella Rivera Gonzales, also of Yorktown, was named Miss Sparkle Queen.
Nation is the daughter of Brandy Jackson and Jason Nation, Sr. of Cuero. She attends Cuero High School.
Rosales is the daughter of Isais and Genoveva Rosales of Yorktown while Gonzales is the daughter of Loraine Gonzales of Yorktown. Both Rosales and Gonzales attend school in Yoakum.
Approximately 250 people attended the pageant, which included an evening of excitement, talent, glittering gowns and sparkling tiaras. Coordinated by Shiner High School students DeLynn Pesek and Anna Adamek, the pageant gave contestants with special needs a chance to shine.
