Nordheim FFA Stock Show and Sale totals $148,616

Scattered showers didn’t put a damper on the 2020 Nordheim FFA Stock Show & Sale on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Nordheim show barn. This year, the sale totaled $119,419.50 with additional “bumps” totaling $29,196.50, bringing a total of $148,616.0. Auctioneer Gary Jarzombek was happily present in the ring once again, and led the sale in the right direction.
Mason Tessmann, 8th grader at Nordheim ISD, exhibited the Grand Champion steer; the steer weighed 1,200 lbs., and sold for $6.0 lb Jason Guinn, 11th grader at Nordheim ISD and FFA President, exhibited the Grand Champion hog at the Nordheim Stock Show; it sold for $3,400.
Allison Johnson, 4th grader at Nordheim ISD, sold her Grand Champion lamb for $4,000 and Ryan Schuenemann, 10th grader at Nordheim ISD, sold his Grand Champion goat for $5,000; Schuenemann also exhibited the Reserve Champion goat, which sold for $4,200.
The 2019-2020 Nordheim FFA officers are Jason Guinn, President, Zaddie Garcia, Vice President, Jeremy Phillips, Secretary, Chastity Garcia, Treasurer, Quensey Torres, Reporter, and Pasiley Perez, Sentential. This years’ advisor is Joseph Dickschat.
Showmanship winners for this year’s show were: Sr. Member Goat- Ryan Schuenemann, Jr. Member Goat- Abby Klein, Jr. Member Lamb-Layne Wisian, Sr. Member Hog- Jason Guinn, Jr. Member Hog- Elizabeth Guinn, Jr. Member Steer- Connor Metting, Sr. Member Steer- Mason Tessman.
