Nola Koenning was born August 30, 1915 in Cheapside, Texas to Herman and Lena Maris Mutschler. Nola passed from this life into eternal rest March 1, 2018 at the age of 102. Nola married the love of her life, Alvin F. Koenning, on November 26, 1935 at St. John Lutheran Church in Westhoff. Nola and Alvin enjoyed 79 years of marriage. Nola was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also was a skilled baker, gardener and seamtress.

Nola was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church, having been baptized there Dec. 26, 1915, and confirmed on April 13, 1930. Nola served for years on the Ladies Aide of St. John Lutheran Church and participated as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
