Wildcats move on to postseason action, end regular season as District Champs
By Roger Cowan
The Yorktown Wildcats remain undefeated in District play, stretching their record to 9-0 on Friday as they celebrated Senior Night against Weimar in Yorktown. Though they remained unbeaten, they did offer their fans quite a scare in both games last week. On Tuesday, Jamel Wade hit three pointer from the Yorktown side of the court at the final buzzer to tie it up and take them into overtime against Flatonia. After quite the overtime battle, the Wildcats would come out ahead 73-66. As if they didn’t want to leave their home crowd out of the excitement, they would offer a thrilling ending to their Friday game as well. Down by one point after a brutally tough fourth quarter, the Wildcats would get the two point basket underneath as time ran out. Once the crowd was able to recompose themselves, it was time for the Undisputed District Champs to cut down the net. With one game remaining at press time, we wish the Wildcats luck on their quest to remain undefeated.
