YYFL gearing up for new season

Yorktown Youth Football is gearing up for their 2017 season. The kids are in full pads and preparing for their first games. Following the season, the players will be able to play at Cowboys Stadium.

“Every other year, our board decided to take the kids to Dallas,” board president Jody Hall said. “It’s a fun thing. It’s not a competitive thing. They get to play on the field. The cheerleaders get to be on the field and do cheers. They play teams that are similar to their size.”

Teams get an hour on the field. Sometimes they play four different teams. Sometimes they play two teams for 30 minutes each. The teams always go towards the endzone.
