Dear Editor:
It is with regret that I announce that Friends & Fitness will be closing Friday, September 3rd.
We did not get the membership that was anticipated, and we can no longer stay in business.
If anyone is interested in buying any of the equipment please let me know. We have lots of CD's; T-Shirts, and some other items.
Thank you for a wonderful year and a half. I enjoyed every moment of the experience and wish you all well in your future exercise routines.
Sincerely,
Dee Pokluda

Pastor Collins as Washington
by PEARLIE BUSHONG, News-View Editor
 (Posted Thu 10:01 am)

Pastor Mark Collins of First Baptist Church plays the role of George Washington in his spare time.
Yorktown’s newest pastor, Mark Collins of the First Baptist Church, has portrayed George Washington from the National Cathedral to the Capitol in Austin. He has been a guest speaker with audiences of 20,000 to the Governors Prayer Breakfast. He also appeared in four films as George Washington.
“I have been in the ministry for 14 years and a reenactment actor for nine years,” Rev. Collins said.
When a friend saw the life mask made of George Washington by Jean-Antoine Houdon in plaster, October 1785, he remarked about the resemblance between George Washington and Rev. Collins.   More
